Quizzl is a Monday through Friday daily timed quiz. The questions come from a number of random subjects. Each month is a new competition.
The scoring is based on 1 point for the correct answer and a second point for completing the answer with no time elapsed. For each second that it takes to complete the test question 0.01 points are subtracted from the total daily score. Each days quiz score is then combined with the other daily quiz scores for a total possible of about 44.00 points each month. The formula is 1 (for a correct answer) + (1 - 0.01) (for each second to complete the quiz). If a person takes 34 seconds to complete a quiz his score for the day would be 1 + (1-.34) = 1.66. If the individual takes the same amount of time each day for 22 days the final score for the month would be 1.66 x 22 = 36.52 out of a possible of 44 points. (The total available points in a month depends on the number of weekdays in that month.)
A handmade (turned on a lathe) wooden pen will be awarded to the winner of each month's competition. In addition, high scoring individuals will be able to see their position on a leaderboard. The daily quiz can be taken as many times as needed to get the correct answer. An explanation of the answer will be given with each question.
The mission of Quizzl is to help people develop a “Honing Habit”. The "Honing Habit" is to engage their mind in thoughtful, focused learning each day - thereby fostering critical thinking, personal accountability and a greater ability to make meaningful contributions in the home and workplace.
